When to salute?

normal girl said...

Hi! The shirt is very nice. Since you are at the topic of besurai, i would like to ask about something. When we are doing besurai, when do we need to salute. For example, do we need to salute if we are not in uniform? If no, how do we do it? When the officers are not in uniform but we are in uniform, do we need to salute?

WOW! It's great that questions keep coming in. Helps to keep our blog alive! Thanks all! *BIG SMILE*

Hi normal girl,

Thanks for the encouragement about the shirt. We'll definitely make it come to pass- to the material (pun intended) form ;)

Actually, your question is more on uniform etiquette and it's good because we should have done a post on this earlier. I believe your question is more about...

When to salute?
- Whenever you're in uniform, regardless of whether your officers are in uniform

If your officers are in uniform, they will return the salute
However, if your officers are not in uniform, they will just nod their head to aknowledge the salute

By the way, one more important point.

In GB, we emphasize respect for your officers/teacher helpers

If you are in school or at any gb events and you see your officers walking past, you should salute and greet your officers/teacher helpers

If you are in a group, you will all fall in and the one with the highest rank would salute and greet your officer on behalf of the group

* After this post, I hope you girls would practice this and greet your officers. It's really a basic sign of respect :)

when we are in uniform and about to salute to an officer to greet her, do we stop and salute or just salute while walking?
